Magical
Saturday, December 13, 2025, 2:00 PM
If the Cape Cod Concert Band could claim only one holiday tradition, it would be this: presenting non-traditional programs, packed with selections that don’t sound like the music you hear at the mall. Celebrating sorcerers and Santa, mystics and the Magi, Hobbits and the holidays, Magical: Music to Make You Believe is a send-up of the fantastical and miraculous. Opening with the fast and furious Sparkling Lights by Matt Conaway, and closing with the New Orleans-inspired Holiday Jambalaya arranged by James Hosay, this program has plenty of musical magic. And did we mention Hobbits? Yes, we did. The Band will present The Lord of the Rings by Dutch conductor and composer Johan deMeij as an epic feature.
Talking About the Weather
Saturday, April 18, 2026, 2:00 PM
T.S. Eliot said, “April is cruelest month,” and he didn’t even live on Cape Cod. But because we do, we think April is the perfect time to present Talking About the Weather, a program of selections that conjure clouds, rain, wind, thunder and lightning, rainbows, and — yes, we absolutely need some — a good measure of sunshine, too! From Richard Saucedo’s tumultuous Of Gale Force Winds to the lively and lyrical Above Cloud Nine by Laura Estes, this is a program packed with musical meteorology you won’t want to miss.
American Tapestry
Sunday, May 24, 2026, 2:00 PM
In May, just as the summer folks start to arrive on Cape Cod, we’ll finish our 2025-26 concert series. We hope you’ll join us then for American Tapestry, a musical celebration of connection and community. With compelling selections like Gathering of the Eagles, a collaboration between Squamish Nation songwriter Bob Baker and concert band arranger Robert Buckley, this program highlights the blending of cultures and traditions that make our homeplace unique — and our musical lives so rich!
Our Venue: Our concerts are performed in the Performing Arts Center at Barnstable High School. The entrance to the PAC is farther down the front of the school, past the Knight Auditorium. It is the last full entrance before the end of the building, on the right side if you were viewing from the street.
COVID Protocols: We are not requiring proof of vaccination for entry at this time. Seating at concerts can be crowded, so please feel free to wear a mask as a precaution. Also, as a courtesy to other attendees, please stay home if you’re not feeling well.
